Muhamet Ahmeti

He was born on September 4, 1961, in Ferizaj, Kosovo. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Prishtina in 1985 and completed his postgraduate studies in 1997 in the class of Prof. Shyqri Nimani. After a long working experience in “Rilindja” and “Zëri” as an artistic editor, Metis began his academic engagement at the University of Prishtina in early 1995. He has opened 13 personal exhibitions and has participated in more than 140 joint exhibitions, as well as in festivals, symposiums and residencies of national and international character. During his artistic creativity and other professional engagements, he has been awarded several times and has realized many projects in the field of graphic design and visual arts. Since 1990, he has published a large number of design projects, such as posters, logos, illustrations for various books, magazines and newspapers. His artistic activity began in 1985, as a "Distinguished Student" of the Academy of Arts, continuing with the First Prize of the XVII Spring Salon for Applied Arts in 1990. Then, he was awarded many plaques, including "Art of The World" in Egypt in 2014; Plaque for Artistic Contribution in Turkey - 2014; Plaque "Ebda'a -Center for Fine Arts" in Saudi Arabia - 2025; First Prize at the Traditional Exhibition 28 November in Kosovo - 2015; Meritorious Award of the Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo, 2016; First Prize at the Traditional Exhibition "Gursel Sylejmani" Award Kosovo - 2022; AAVK Award at the Annual Exhibition - 2026 and many other local and international certificates and recognitions. Metis was the president of the Association of Applied Artists of Kosovo from 2001, while from 2011 onwards he organizes two cultural activities of an international character, the "International Euro Kosova Art Festival" and the "Global Kosova Art Competition". These international artistic events have now achieved wide cultural affirmation in the country and abroad, organizing 22 festivals with the participation of over 300 artists from around the world. Muhamet Ahmeti-Metis is also the author of several textbooks on figurative arts and co-author of textbooks for the Albanian diaspora. During the years 2011-2014, he contributed to the "Albanian University" of Tirana as a visiting professor for design subjects. He currently works at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prishtina as a full professor of design and a professor engaged in USHAF. He is active in his successful creativity in the field of visual arts of painting, design, and curatorial writing for exhibitions and other artistic organizations.
